### National Board Certification

I've decided to work on my national boards this year. So...I may not be posting as much as I would like to. If there are any of my readers out there working on National Board Certification, leave a comment of what area.  I would love to collaborate with you! :) Or any teachers who recently passed their boards, advice or encouragement would be fabulous!

2. I am a Middle Childhood Generalist NBCT. It was a tough process but worth it. Just go with your gut on your entries and craft the lessons that you have always wanted to do, are what you want students to experience, and reflect honestly on them. Just follow the standards; read and reread them and all the precise directions and you will do a great job. As cliche as it might sound- it really is about the journey. Best of luck. Heather

3. I love your page. I wanted to get the information on adding and subtracting the fractions but cant seem to find it. Help.
(add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators Common Core Math 5.NF.1 Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators (including mixed numbers) by replacing given fractions with equivalent fractions in such a way as to produce an equivalent sum or difference of fractions with like denominators. For example, 2/3 + 5/4 = 8/12 + 15/12 = 23/12. (In general, a/b + c/d = (ad + bc)/bd.)
